Donald Trump Is on Twitter Too Much: Poll
Most voters say President-elect Donald Trump tweets too much for their taste.
Donald Trump may have used Twitter to dominate news cycles and even catapult himself to the White House, but most voters say that he spends too much time tweeting away on the social media platform, a new poll finds.
More than half of respondents — 56 percent — said Trump uses Twitter too much, while 16 percent said he uses it an appropriate amount and just 5 percent want him to tweet more, according to a Morning Consult/Politico poll released on Tuesday. Not surprisingly, the president-elect's social media habits are more popular among his supporters — just 37 percent said he tweets too much. Conversely, 48 percent of independents and 75 percent of Democrats think he tweets too much.
Voters, however, are divided on whether or not Trump should be allowed to use his personal Twitter account to talk to his 16.8 million followers after inauguration, with 42 percent saying he should be able to and 39 percent say he should not.

On Monday, Trump said it's the press that drives him to tweet so much, posting on Twitter: "If the press would cover me accurately & honorably, I would have far less reason to 'tweet.' Sadly, I don't know if that will ever happen!"

Monday's Twitter defense came after the president-elect came under fire over the weekend for one of his Twitter rants at both "Saturday Night Live," which he deemed "unwatchable," and critics who said he should not have accepted a call from the leader of Taiwan — a move that carries the potential of undermining relations with China.

Just tried watching Saturday Night Live - unwatchable! Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can't get any worse. Sad

their country (the U.S. doesn't tax them) or to build a massive military complex in the middle of the South China Sea? I don't think so!

In less than one month since his Election Day victory, Trump has taken to Twitter to blame the media for allegedly inciting “professional protesters," demanded an apology from the cast of “Hamilton” and claimed millions of people voted illegally in the election.
Last week, during an event at the Harvard Institute of Politics, CNN host Jake Tapper asked Trump senior adviser Kellyanne Conway if his use of Twitter was “presidential behavior.”
Conway shot back: "Well, he's the president-elect, so that’s presidential behavior."
“I will tell you that president-elect looks at his social media accounts, a combined 25 million — or probably more at this point — users on Twitter, on Facebook as a very good platform for which to convey his messages,” she explained. “He's a unique person who's been following his instincts and his judgment from the beginning.”
The Morning Consult/Politico poll surveyed 1,401 registered voters Dec. 1-2. It has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
