First American Dies From Coronavirus In Wuhan, China: Report

While few details are known about the individual, reports say she was a 60-year-old woman.

WUHAN, CHINA — A U.S. citizen has died from the new coronavirus, officials with the U.S. Embassy in Beijing told the New York Times Saturday. While few details are known about the individual, reports say the 60-year-old woman had underlying health conditions and died at the Jinyintan Hospital in Wuhan, the inland metropolis at the center of the epidemic

This is the first American to die as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The virus has killed at least 700 people in China and sickened thousands more as it continues to spread across the globe.
