New Girl Scout Brownie-Cookie To Make Its Debut In 2022

The Girl Scouts are upping their sales game with the Adventureful, a brownie-cookie hybrid that no doubt tastes as good as it looks.

ACROSS AMERICA — It’s only August, but Girl Scouts of the USA has already given us something to look forward to in 2022 that has nothing to do with the coronavirus: a brand-new treat in a long line of delectable cookies.

The organization this week unveiled the Adventureful, a fudgy cookie-brownie combo that will be the latest addition to its annual cookie sales roster. Packed with caramel creme and a hint of sea salt, the Adventureful has everything a dessert lover needs to satisfy their sweet tooth.

Adventurefuls will debut in January, when Girl Scouts across the country start peddling their cookies, CNN reported. The cookie will be sold alongside Samoas and Thin Mints, classic favorites in the organization’s cookie repertoire.

Aventurefuls are the third new cookie debuted since 2020, according to CNN. The 2021 cookie season brought the Toast-Yay!, a French toast-flavored cookie shaped like a miniature piece of bread. In 2020, the Girl Scouts introduced Lemon-Ups, lemon wafers stamped with positive affirmations.

It seems inconceivable that it took the Girl Scouts this long to release a brownie-inspired cookie, especially considering an entire group of scouts are referred to as Brownies.

That, of course, makes us think of Wednesday Addams and leads us to pose the question: “Are they made from real Brownie scouts?”

We jest, of course. Certainly, no children were used in the making of these cookies. Considering the ingredients, Food & Wine editor Adam Campbell-Schmitt, who got to sample the new treat, said to expect “a road less traveled for sure.”

Campbell-Schmitt said the Adventureful leads “with a very chocolatey, brownie-like flavor that had its sweetness well-tempered by the salty caramel note. The results were a bit of a cookie mashup: the texture of Thin Mints meets the filled format of Tagalongs and the striped, gooiness of Samoas — yet different enough to stand on its own.”
