MMA Fighter Facing 3 Murder Charges Escapes In Conroe

A manhunt is underway after Cedric Joseph Marks managed to escape from a private prisoner transport near state Routes 336 and 75.

CONROE, TX — A manhunt is underway after a professional mixed martial arts fighter facing three murder charges escaped authorities near Conroe. Cedric Joseph Marks managed to escape from a private prisoner transport near state Routes 336 and 75 and is considered "extremely dangerous," the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office tweeted Sunday morning.

He is not wearing a shirt, the sheriff's office said. It was found by law enforcement officers after he fled.

At around 7:20 a.m., authorities received a call from Texas Prisoners Transport Services that Marks, 44, was able to evade custody when the van stopped at a McDonald's restaurant. He then took off east on foot.
