Brie Larson 'Tears Up' During Comic-Con Proposal

ROSEMONT, IL — A couple has an engagement story they will likely share for many years to come. John Chambrone and his boyfriend, Richard Owen, headed to Comic Con over the weekend with the hopes of meeting "Captain Marvel" actress Brie Larson.

But Chambrone had a secret plan brewing as they searched the event for her. When they got to meet the star, Chambrone dropped down on one knee and asked Owen to marry him, according to the Huffington Post.

"Brie Larson was amazing! He said yes and we both put the ring on his finger," Chambrone wrote in a Facebook post. "As we were walking away, Richard said he saw her tear up a bit."

And the duo was so elated they were crying on and off that night too, Chambrone said.

"I never in my life thought I would be this much in love with anyone, let alone want to marry them, but he truly is an amazing guy who shows me daily how much he loves me and I am crazy about him, too," Chambrone said.

Larson's reaction to the proposal, which has been referred to as "wholesome" and "pure," has grabbed attention from media outlets across the nation. Larson shared her thoughts on the experience over Twitter.

"Y'all I was present for a proposal and I am CHANGED," she wrote. "Much love to the happy couple!"

The actress also thanked fans who attended the Rosemont event, her first "con," adding, "My heart is so full."

Meanwhile, Chambrone and his partner have been fielding calls from media outlets across the country for interviews. And Chambrone said he definitely does not mind.

"I love talking about our story!" he said, sharing a photo of the ring, which even Thanos would envy.
