Still Unvaccinated? CDC Says Stay Home This Labor Day Weekend
As COVID-19 cases surge due to the highly transmissible delta variant, public health officials are urging the unvaccinated not to travel.

WASHINGTON, DC — If you still haven't received your COVID-19 vaccine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention wants to you to reconsider your Labor Day weekend plans. In fact, the agency would prefer you stay home.
In a briefing this week, federal public health officials said that due to the highly transmissible delta variant, travel is not recommended for Americans who are still not vaccinated, according to a National Public Radio report.
"People who are fully vaccinated, and who are wearing masks, can travel," CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said. "Although, given where we are with disease transmission right now, we would say that people need to take these risks into their own consideration as they think about traveling."
