ACROSS AMERICA — Below, Patch shows some of the most notable stories of the week in pictures.

As the Eastern Seaboard and Midwest were blasted by winter storms, Punxsutawney Phil — the weather prognosticating groundhog — predicted six more weeks of winter. For many suffering winter's might, a milder winter would be welcome.

Three NFL highlights include the Super Bowl matchup being finalized; Tom Brady retiring after seven Super Bowl wins; and a storied franchise announcing a new nickname after criticism citing a lack of racial sensitivity doomed the team's previous nickname.
