What’s The Kindest Thing A Neighbor Has Ever Done For You? Block Talk

It's Random Acts of Kindness Week. We want to hear about the kindest thing a neighbor ever did for you.

Some readers said our last installment of Block Talk, Patch’s exclusive neighborhood etiquette column, missed the point with the question, “As winter drags on, what bugs you about your neighbor?”

They told stories about neighbors who clear the entire block with their snowblowers, share home-cooked meals, check on their older neighbors, and generally reinforce that the neighborhood is a great place to live.

Fair enough.

Random Acts of Kindness Week culminates Tuesday, Feb. 17, with Random Acts of Kindness Day. It’s an unofficial movement to encourage people to perform small, unexpected acts of kindness just to brighten someone else’s day.

So, we’re asking, what’s the kindest, most unexpected thing a neighbor ever did for you? Or, what acts of kindness do you perform to make the day go a bit better for your neighbors?

Kindness doesn’t have to be grand or costly. It can be as simple as offering a compliment, writing a heartfelt note, or paying for someone’s coffee or meal. It doesn’t have to be a grand or costly act; even brief moments of generosity, empathy, or gratitude can strengthen neighborhood connections.

Just fill out the survey below. As always, we don’t collect email addresses.
