Since Lucy Westlake was 7 years old, she has been climbing mountains with her father, Rodney. The 18-year-old Naperville native recently set out on her loftiest conquest yet, a trek to climb Mount Everest and become the youngest American woman in history to reach the 29,000-foot summit.

West Hartford Police Get 'Thank You' Note From Child During Speed Trap

One day last week, a West Hartford police officer was working a speed enforcement detail on Albany Avenue. A young girl named Charlotte was watching from her residence.

Charlotte took it upon herself to write a little note to the officer and came out of her house to thank the department and hand the officer the message.

Firefighters Rescue Ducklings, Reunite Them With Mother And Siblings

The lesson is when you're out and about with family, stay close. Three little ducklings learned it the hard way, according to Portland Fire & Rescue.
