Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield has a new name after a unanimous Fairfax County School Board vote Thursday. The school has been named for John Lewis, the late congressman and civil rights leader. The new name will go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year.

Washington To Be Called 'Washington Football Team' In 2020 Season
The Washington NFL franchise, formerly known as the Washington Redskins, is officially changing its name to the Washington Football Team, at least for the 2020 season. The team announced the decision to go with Washington Football Team as its new name on Thursday, more than a week after it said it would no longer be known as the Redskins.

Deaths Down In Virginia As Coronavirus Hospitalizations Increase
The Virginia Department of Health reported 844 additional coronavirus cases on Thursday, with Northern Virginia accounting for 169, or 20 percent, of the new cases. The statewide daily increase was down from the 1,022-case increase from Tuesday to Wednesday.

The State Fair of Virginia won't be held for the first time in decades due to the coronavirus pandemic. It would have been held Sept. 25 through Oct. 4, 2020 at the Meadow Event Park in Caroline County. A modified State Fair 4-H Livestock Show will take place.
