Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) Academy of Alexandria, Va. hosted its annual fundraising campaign celebration and announced it raised $163,379, doubling the amount raised in 2018. The campaign concludes at the end of the school year. The monies will fund MSA operating costs and tuition support. For more information, go to www.metropolitanarts.org.

This year, the Academy awarded the first annual “Champion of Young Performers Award” to Burtons Grill & Bar of Alexandria. Va. for its outstanding financial and volunteer support to MSA. Burtons has been a top-level annual sponsor of MSA the past three years and has donated a catered lunch for our Academy celebration, valued at $10,000 the past two years. They also support MSA’s pre-show receptions, Starving Artist Card, prepare discounted lunches to the Academy, and offer allergy-friendly healthy meals during tech weeks of our major performances.

“We are grateful to have such a committed partner with Burtons who shares values of promoting healthy living to families and generosity to our community,” said Melissa Dobbs, founder and executive director of Metropolitan School of the Arts of Alexandria, Va. “We are overwhelmed with the gracious giving of our community to help us surpass our 2019 fundraising goals,” said Dobbs.
