Pearce said Wednesday afternoon that police are continuing to comb through video and they are still hoping to find an image of her from the numerous surveillance cameras at the shopping center.
Police are also coordinating efforts with Metro police, looking at surveillance video there, because Akens was supposed to walk from the shopping center to the nearby Franconia-Springfield Station. Pearce said no video has shown up so far from Metro surveillance cameras either.

Akens, 19, was last seen Saturday when she was dropped off by her stepfather, who is divorced from Akens’ mother, Pearce said. The family is on friendly terms, he noted.
Akens was supposed to take the Metro to Reagan National Airport to fly to Arizona to meet her fiance, Pearce said.
On Monday, authorities found luggage belonging to Akens strewn in a drainage ditch just outside Fredericksburg.
