In the I-66 case, the initial call came in at 10:47 p.m. Friday from a motorist concerned about a white Chevrolet Impala with flashing blue and red lights in its grille, state police said. The driver was trying to pull over vehicles on I-66 in the area of Route 15 in Prince William County. The caller gave state police the Impala’s license plate number.

Further investigation led Watson, the state trooper, to Ahmad’s residence on Sunday night. On his way there, Watson found a white 2007 Chevrolet Impala (in photo above) parked about two blocks away with the lights on and engine running. Ahmad was inside the vehicle asleep, according to state police.

A search of the Impala, with Ahmad’s consent, resulted in the discovery of marijuana, as well as a blue strobe light and red strobe light embedded in the car’s lower grille, the state police said. Ahmad was taken into custody without incident, and the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information about this incident or has had contact with this particular vehicle should call the Virginia State Police at (703) 803-0026 or #77 on a cell phone.
