The Highlanders have clinched a state tournament appearance following a 4-2 win over Centreville in Wednesday’s AAA Northern Region semifinal in Vienna on Wednesday. Melissa Downey, Kristina Bettner, Becca Latimer and Andie Romness each scored a goal for McLean in the victory.
The McLean Highlanders (14-3-2) will play W. T. Woodson (13-2-3) in the regional championship beginning at 5:30pm at Madison High School.
Both teams advance to the State tournament.
