• Battleship Wisconsin makes its move — temporarily (wavy.com) — Norfolk's iconic battleship Wisconsin briefly moved off its Nauticus pier this week so crews can replace two massive fenders that protect the ship from scraping the dock, a project planned for about a year. Residents and visitors gathered along the waterfront to watch the rare maneuver, which keeps the 82-year-old vessel safely in place as a major city landmark through Sept. 11 work.

• Vigor Marine MHI Norfolk Returns USS Mesa Verde To Fleet After SRA (oceannews.com) — Shipyard workers in Norfolk have finished a major maintenance project on the USS Mesa Verde, completing more than half a million hours of repairs and upgrades at MHI Norfolk and Naval Station Norfolk. The work returns the amphibious transport dock to full service and underscores the region's ongoing role in Navy readiness and skilled maritime jobs.
