But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect dry weather with cool mornings and warm afternoons this week.

"Monday's afternoon temperatures will be similar to those today (Sunday) as the region continues to be under the influence of high pressure," the National Weather Service wrote. "However, high clouds will persist over the region through at least midweek."

In other news, authorities in Stockton are asking for the public's help as the investigation into a deadly mass shooting at a 2-year-old's birthday party continues.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office on Saturday released photos of cars suspected of being involved in the Nov. 29 massacre, which left four people dead and 13 injured.

Plus, celebrations to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day are planned across Northern California on Monday, including at Oakland's Oscar Grant Plaza, where thousands are set to gather for a rally and march to honor what organizers call King's "radical legacy."
