The cemetery was given a new look in 2019 via two critical projects to expand and improve the appearance of the cemetery.

The cemetery accommodates both burials and cremations. It also has an area dedicated to Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, which was delivered on Nov. 19, 1863 in what is now a national cemetery at the battlefield.
