Michelle Troconis Sentenced To Prison In Jennifer Farber Dulos Case

Troconis was convicted in March of conspiracy to commit murder and related charges in the disappearance and death of Jennifer Farber Dulos.

STAMFORD, CT — Michelle Troconis, who was convicted in March in connection with the disappearance and death of Jennifer Farber Dulos, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Kevin Randolph on Friday to 20 years in prison, suspended after 14-and-a-half years served, followed by five years of probation.

Troconis had been found guilty on all charges she faced during her six-week trial, which were:

  • Conspiracy to commit murder
  • Conspiracy to tamper with evidence
  • Tampering with physical evidence (2 counts)
  • Conspiracy to commit to tampering with physical evidence
  • Hindering prosecution

She faced potential maximum sentences of 20 years in prison (if the sentences were served concurrently), or 45 years in prison (if the sentences ran consecutively). Earlier during the sentencing, Judge Randolph dismissed one of the tampering conspiracy charges, which reduced the potential maximum.

Judge Randolph handed down the sentence after hearing emotional victim and character statements from two dozen members and friends of both Jennifer Dulos and Michelle Troconis.

Among those who spoke in support of Jennifer, included her mother, Gloria Farber, and all five of Jennifer's children, who spoke lovingly of Jennifer, and condemned what they said were Michelle’s evil and cowardly actions in Jennifer’s murder.

"My life is nothing like it used to be," said Theodore Dulos, who was 13 when his mother was murdered five years ago. "I’ll never talk to her again. Michelle, you caused this damage."

Troconis wept throughout the statements, both for and against her.

"I raised all my daughters to be respectful and hard workers," said Marisela Arreaza, Troconis' mother, fighting back tears, adding that Michelle was dedicated to helping others, never harming anyone.

Arreaza and Michelle's sister, Daniella, said Fotis Dulos was to blame for the murder, not Troconis.

"Fotis was not the man he portrayed himself as," Daniella Troconis King said. "We all feel lied to, we all feel betrayed."

Through her attorney, Jon Schoenhorn, Troconis has appealed her conviction. She has been in custody since her conviction on March 1.

Jennifer Farber Dulos, a 50-year-old mother of five, vanished from her New Canaan home on May 24, 2019, the victim of a brutal attack at the hands of her estranged husband, the late Fotis Dulos, prosecutors believe. The Duloses were in the midst of a bitter divorce and child custody fight at the time of her disappearance.

Troconis was Fotis' girlfriend at the time, and during her trial, prosecutors convinced the jury that she not only played a role in the cover-up after the disappearance, but also helped with the murder.

Schoenhorn argued that his client did not know of the murder beforehand, and did not knowingly help with the cover-up. Troconis and her family have steadfastly proclaimed her innocence.

Fotis Dulos was charged with kidnapping and murdering Jennifer Dulos, but he never stood trial, because he took his own life in January 2020.

Jennifer Dulos' body has not been found; she was declared dead by a probate judge in late 2023. Last week marked the fifth anniversary of Jennifer's disappearance.

During an exclusive interview with WTNH-TV, Farber said she not only thinks Troconis knows where her daughter's remains are, she also believes Troconis has no remorse over the crime.
