Potent New Form Of Fentanyl ID'd In Georgia Mass Overdoses

State officials investigating an altered form of fentanyl found in a street drug that has been linked to mass overdoses -- some fatal -- said this week that they have identified a previously unknown substance in the pills. The substance is so foreign that it is not even known how humans will be affected if it is consumed. The GBI's Crime Lab said last week they needed more time to look into the substance, which has been linked to five deaths and more than 30 hospitalizations in parts of Georgia.

Atlanta-Filmed 'Black Panther' Ranks No. 3 In Marvel Trailer Views

On the heels of Marvel Studios' recent release of the first teaser trailer for Atlanta-filmed "Black Panther," the video ranks third in the studio's most-watched trailers of all time, according to news reports. Released on Thursday night, "Black Panther" went bonkers on social media, garnering 89 million views in its first 24 hours, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Animal Hospital Seeks Help To Pay For Injured Dog's Surgery

The Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs has come to the aid of a dog that suffered fractures to both forelimbs during an accident, and is asking the community to help cover the cost of the pup's surgery. The campaign will pay for the surgery required for Dallas, a one-year-old Borzoi, to lead a healthy and happy life.

Police ID Woman Killed In Fiery, 8-Vehicle Crash
Police have identified the woman killed Monday in a fiery, eight-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer in Lawrenceville. Eva Jones Wilkerson, 61, of Winder, was driving a 2011 Toyota Corolla that police say was trapped beneath the tractor-trailer and caught on fire.
