1. 150 feet below Bethesda, Metro shows off work before Red Line stations reopen (wtop.com) — Red Line riders in Bethesda get their station back Monday as Metro reopens the Bethesda, Medical Center, and Grosvenor-Strathmore stops after a summer shutdown, restoring full service between Friendship Heights and North Bethesda. Crews used the closure to build a new mezzanine for the future Purple Line connection in Bethesda and upgrade platforms and lighting, while shuttle bus commuters and drivers share relief that the longer trips are finally ending.
   

2. PR: Announcing Debut Books at SPX 2026 (blogspot.com) — Bethesda will host the Small Press Expo 2026 at the Bethesda North Marriott on September 12–13, bringing more than 500 independent comics creators, 280 exhibitor tables, and dozens of panels and workshops.
