It was another busy news day in the Bay State featuring crime logs, breaking alerts, features and interviews, and more. Here are some of the stories and posts our editorial team has been working on today.

A Weymouth High School student was taken into custody earlier today after allegedly boasting about having a gun, sending the school into lockdown mode. House Speaker Robert DeLeo, D-Winthrop, and state Rep. James Murphy, D-Weymouth, were at the school at the time and locked in an office during the incident.

Also, eight teens were hurt after a rogue wave struck a whale watching boat yesterday. Say, do you play lacrosse? The Bill Belichick Foundation has a new scholarship program underway.
