2016 is almost in the books and needless to say, the year had some notable stories.

From an appearance from America's favorite TV mom to the sale of a well-known establishment and a murder at an apartment complex, there were plenty of headlines in 2016.

10. Norwood Hospital Welcomes America’s Favorite TV Mom, Florence Henderson

Shortly before her death, Florence Henderson surprised patients at Norwood Hospital with a visit. The October visit came while she was in the area for the Best Years Expo at Gillette Stadium.

9. Level 2 Sex Offender on Dean Street Arrested, Charged with Exposing Himself

In August, Chad Falcone was arrested and charged with two counts of open and gross lewdness and accosting an annoying a person of the opposite sex.

8. Norwood Superintendent Calls for Empathy, Tolerance Following School Incidents

In November, the Norwood superintendent of schools is called for more kindness after multiple incidents of hate after the election. In a letter to parents, Superintendent Jim Hayden told parents that there were some incidents but they are working to stop them.

7. Woman Wanted in Illinois Arrested in Norwood
In September, a woman who gained attention in a 2008 murder was arrested by the Norwood Police Department.

6. Norwood Police Searching for Missing Teen

In February, the Norwood Police Department asked for assistance in locating a 16-year-old female.

5. Former Concannon's Village Pub Sold for $1.5 Million

In November, Real estate firm Colliers International announced that the property at 60 Lennox St. was sold to Marini Management for $1.5 million.

4. Man With Norwood Ties Wanted for Child Rape

3. Man Murdered at Norwood Apartment Complex

2. Uber Driver Arrested for Indecent Assault of Passenger

In July, An Uber driver from Lawrence was arrested after allegedly indecently assaulting a woman he was driving to Norwood.
