Cameron Brian Reynolds, 27, of Tara Drive in Concord was arrested at 11:14 a.m. on June 12 on theft by unauthorized taking, less than $1,000, and felony possession of a controlled drug charges. Officers were sent to Walmart on Loudon Road for a welfare check of a man who was wandering around the lot without a shirt on. Later, an employee detained the man for shoplifting. Police spoke with the employee, who said the man hid items under his shirt and then left the store, a report said. While speaking with the man, the officer said he would not identify himself. The officer went to cuff him due to his “acting erratic,” and a large bag of candy fell out of his waistband, according to an affidavit. A small package of donuts was also seen in a front pocket. The man was asked for his name again, and this time, he said “Cameron Money” and gave a birth date, a report said. Dispatch later identified him as Reynolds by matching the birth date, which was correct, and Cameron. Reynolds was accused of admitting to stealing the candy because he “got bored” while at the store with his mother. Reynolds was taken to a cruiser, and during a search, the officer accused him of having a small baggie of white powder believed to be fentanyl. The Walmart employee recovered a pair of pink socks and hoodie that were reported stolen next to Reynolds’ vehicle, the report said. The total amount of the items was $26.56. Later, during questioning, Reynolds said he believed the drugs were heroin — but was not totally sure because he got it from a friend and had not gotten the chance to use them yet, the affidavit said.
