One Concord School Board Member Ousted; One Incumbent Survives
Gina Cannon bested Pam Wicks on the east side while Jim Richards fends off a challenge by Patrice Myers. District B gets a new board member.

CONCORD, NH — The city's political watchers have been wondering, for weeks, whether or not the Primo "Howie" Leung teacher-student rape case, and the backlash and chaos that followed, infuriating parents and taxpayers, would have an effect on the two incumbents running for reelection to district seats on the Concord Board of Education.
In the end, one incumbent lost their seat while one held on.
In District A, covering Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4, Jim Richards beat Patrice Myers, 598 to 387. While Richards had a presence at the polls, Myers ran a lowkey campaign. She lost both Wards 1 and 2 by two votes each but Wards 3 and 4 put him over the top.

In District C, which represents Wards 8, 9, and 10, Gina Cannon bested Pam Wicks, 777 to 643 votes. Cannon, who was presuming she would lose at Monday's school board meeting, bested Wicks in all three wards.
The District B seat has a new board of education member after Nancy Keane, who filled out the remaining year after Jennifer Patterson was elected at large in 2018. In that race, David Parker beat Max Schultz, 947 to 844.
