Allegedly intoxicated NHTI student requests officer let her go: "I don't want to get in trouble. I don't want to be in the Concord Patch."

Joseph M. Young, 18, of College Drive in Concord, and Amanda M. Conrad, 19, of College Drive in Concord, both received a summons at 1:48 a.m. on April 16, 2015, for unlawful possession of alcohol. An officer patrolling behind Planet Fitness on Fort Eddy Road reportedly saw two people walking in a wooded area behind the building. The officer found this behavior suspicious, considering the hour, and parked his cruiser. The officer went over to speak to them as they began to walk away. Conrad and Young reportedly stated that they were NHTI students out for a walk. They both allegedly appeared to be intoxicated. After speaking with them, Young allegedly admitted they were smoking marijuana in the woods. He later allegedly changed his story to say they were drinking mixed drinks and vodka. Conrad also allegedly admitted to consuming several mixed drinks. She was “extremely emotional,” was crying, and experiencing several mood swings. “Conrad said, ‘Please just let me go back to my room and go to bed. I don’t want to get in trouble. I don’t want to be in the Concord Patch,’” according to the report. Both were taken into custody while police came in contact with NHTI security. They were later released with summonses. “Both Young and Conrad remained rude, uncooperative, and disrespectful throughout our encounter with them on this date,” the officer alleged. They are due in court on May 18.
Colton J. Squeglia, 18, of Manchester Street in Concord, was arrested at 2:05 a.m. on April 11, and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol. Also arrested at 2:32 a.m. was John J. Jellue, 19, of Jennings Drive in Concord, for transportation of alcoholic beverages by a minor and operating without a valid license. Officers were dispatched to Banks Chevrolet on Manchester Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle “racing around” the dealership as well as Old Suncook Road. Another officer spotted the vehicle at Cumberland Farms on Manchester Street and spoke to three individuals. Jellue reportedly told the officers they had been out in Squeglia’s new Volkswagen. He allegedly told the officers that Squeglia was “driving fast” and he told him to “stop being stupid.” Jellue then asked to drive and headed over to Cumbies so they could get food. Another officer allegedly found a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon in the center console of the car but Jellue reportedly didn’t know there was an open beer in the car. He was then arrested. Meanwhile, another officer spoke to Squeglia who reportedly smelled like alcohol and allegedly admitted to having a few beers. He was allegedly “very uncooperative” and wouldn’t stand close to the officer. “Squeglia continued to say if he got arrested he would go to jail due to his diversion program he was currently on.” He was then arrested and is due in court on May 18.
