CONCORD, NH — Daswan Jette has been convicted by a superior court jury of manslaughter in the 2017 stabbing death of Sabrina Galusha, 23, of Concord, according to the Concord Monitor. Jette, 22, originally from Boston, Massachusetts, had just moved in with a woman in Penacook at the time of the stabbing and eluded harsher charges, after being indicted on first- and second-degree murder counts a few months after the incident. On May 30, 2017, Jette lined up a $90 marijuana buy with Galusha and others at the Penacook Place apartment complex on Pinehurst Street.

Jette pulled out a scale to measure a baggie of marijuana and when Galusha let go of the baggie, he swiped it, and fled back into the apartment building, according to a detective's report. Galusha and others confronted him in the lobby of the building, requesting he return the marijuana to her, but he refused, pulled out a knife, and stabbed Galusha in the buttocks.

A struggle ensued, and Galusha's friends were able to close the knife and get the marijuana back. They fled back to a car but Jette chased after them, got into the car, and stabbed Galusha multiple times in the knee and chest.

A friend attempted to drive her to the hospital but she took a turn for the worse on the way. The driver stopped near Swenson Granite on North State Street and called for an ambulance. Galusha died later at Concord Hospital.

At the time of the incident, it was the third stabbing in less than a week, all of them drug related.

After her death, a vigil was held at the Statehouse for Galusha, and a GoFundMe.com effort set up to raise money for funeral expenses by Jeffrey Grenier of Manchester, a friend, who was later arrested and indicted for spending the money on personal expenses, including the purchase of a car.

At the time of Galusha's death, Jette was an aspiring model and went by the moniker of "Dee Bang."

During the trial in Merrimack County Superior Court, Jette claimed self-defense and stated he felt threatened during the drug deal.
