Dozens Of Police Search Concord Heights For Missing Couple: Video

Update: Police, state troopers, as well as the Central NH Special Operations Unit, spent Thursday searching for Djeswende and Stephen Reid.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police, New Hampshire State Police, and others have spent Thursday searching for a missing capital region couple last heard from on Tuesday.

Djeswende P. "Wende" Reid, 66, and Stephen L. Reid, 67, both of Concord were reported missing, with police alerting the public Thursday after Stephen Reid did not arrive for a planned event on Wednesday. Family members saw them both on Sunday and communicated with them on Monday.

On the Concord Heights, off Loudon Road between Alton Woods Drive, Portsmouth Street, and Old Loudon Road, dozens of police officers have been stationed searching the area for the couple. The search has included police, troopers, K-9 units, and members of the Central NH Special Operations Unit, the SWAT team for Concord and area police departments.

Police said both of their vehicles were parked in their usual places at their apartment, they have no known medical history or domestic violence, and are not known to own firearms. The couple often frequent the trails in the area, and consider themselves “avid outdoors people.”

According to police, officers and K-9 have searched the entire area, including several trails around apartment complexes in the area. Concord police on bicycles were seen on Loudon Road, too, riding around and checking areas. Witnesses also reported seeing officers checking homes and apartments on Northeast Village Road.
