Investigators Back At Concord Retired Couple Shootings Crime Scene
Update: After releasing reward info concerning the deaths of Stephen and Djeswende Reid, police were on the Broken Ground trails again.
CONCORD, NH — A few hours after releasing information about a $5,000 reward, investigators were back at the Broken Ground Trail system in East Concord, looking for clues and evidence connected to the shooting deaths of Stephen and Djeswende Reid.
Concord detectives, a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit, and others were seen on Thursday recanvassing a number of areas in and around the location where the retired couple was killed. The Hillsborough K-9 unit, which was also at the scene during the 48-hour canvass after the Reid's bodies were found, specializes in searching for electronic evidence — cellphones, computer hard drives, SD cards, and other items. Law enforcement officials also had marking tape and other items with them during the searches.
Unlike prior evidence searches in and around the trail system, investigators appear to have access to the Eversource substation gate — allowing them to move their vehicles off Portsmouth Street and away from the trailhead. The vehicles were parked near an abandoned homeless camp that also had a number of search grid markers.

William Hinkle, the media relations manager from Eversource, said the company was “fully supporting law enforcement’s investigation.”
Michael Garrity, the director of communications for the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office, said investigators being back on the site was “part of our ongoing investigation.” He added that the public should expect to see investigators in the area or on patrol in and around the city — including high visibility patrols on bikes, ATVs, and police vehicles.

The reward was posted on Thursday with an offer of $5,000 to anyone who has information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case.
Concord police, the FBI, and others are sifting through more than 130 tips about the shootings, Garrity said. Police are responding to tipsters and anyone who has entered information into the Crimeline website should re-check their submissions to see if police have more questions.
Garrity said the case remains “highly active” in large part due to the quality tips investigators continue to receive from the public.
“We are learning more each day and are working each tip we receive,” he said
Investigators also asked anyone who may have dashcam footage while driving on Loudon Road or Portsmouth Street on April 18 and anyone who was hiking or biking on that trail system on Sunday, April 17, Monday, April 18, or Tuesday, April 19, to contact the police.
