Photos: East Hampton Library Hosts Tribute to Former Resident

The East Hampton Library hosted a tribute to former resident and actor Eli Wallach, who passed away in July, this past Saturday, Jan. 10.

Wallach was a long-time resident of East Hampton along with his wife and frequent co-star Anne Jackson.

They were beloved, active members of the community and special friends to the library, according to the library’s Facebook page.

In his honor, the library presented a screening of a never-seen video of Wallach’s performance as Mr. Green in ‘Visiting Mr. Green’, his last staring role on stage in the Baldwin Family Lecture Room.

Author and playwright, Jeff Baron was present to tell the behind-the-scenes story of the four-year journey he took with Wallach leading up to the play’s year-long, award-winning New York run.

East Hampton Library Director Dennis Fabiszak was also present to introduce the Program.

Pat Mercer, Barb Kinnier, Chairman and Founder Doug Mercer and Marie Weller were present, attending from The Wellness Foundation.

Baron spoke about Wallach’s passion for watches.
