Panera Heads to Glen Cove, and Other LI Spots
Glen Cove restaurant is one of four opening on Long Island this year.

Glen Cove is one of four towns soon to be home to Panera Bread, company officials confirmed Tuesday.
Panera will open a location in Valley Stream on Feb. 2 and will open three other locations in Garden City, Glen Cove, and Patchogue later this spring, officials said.
The Valley Stream restaurant, located inside Green Acres Mall, is the 27th on Long Island.

“The people who live and work on Long Island have always warmly welcomed Panera Bread, so we are excited to extend our reach to better serve additional communities on the Island,” said Greg George, Vice President of Doherty Enterprises Inc. “We look forward to bringing an array of better-for-you food options and staffing the cafés with energetic individuals from within the community.”
Doherty is the Long Island franchisee for Panera.

Communities are gearing up for the new business to come to town.
“ The fact that Glen Cove was able to attract a large chain such as Panera Bread is evidence of our continued commitment to open Glen Cove for business,” Glen Cove Mayor Reggie Spinello said in a statement in March 2014.
The new restaurants will also provide about 240 jobs to Long Island and is already accepting applications. Applicants can apply at the Valley Stream location in person or online on the Doherty Inc. website here.
