Man Struck, Killed by Van in Bay Shore
Accident occurred early Sunday morning, police say.

An Islip man was struck and killed by a van as he attempted to cross a road in Bay Shore early Sunday, police said.
According to police, Julio Delgado, 35, was walking from east to west across Bay Shore Road at the entrance ramp to the Southern State Parkway when he was struck by a southbound 1989 Ford van, driven by Brett Beatty, at approximately 1 a.m.
Delgado was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. Beatty, 56, of Brentwood, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
