PA Nor'easter Damage: Wind-Blown Sign Kills Man, Mural Collapses, Power Outages

Heavy wind from a nor'easter storm has caused numerous road closures, power outages and is even responsible for a flying sign that killed a man in Philadelphia Monday.
Wind speeds of 40 mph or more were expected in the region this afternoon. Also, residents should be prepared for localized flooding as the heaviest rain moves through the area later in the day.
As of 4 p.m., PECO is reporting about 6,300 without power across its coverage area. That's down from about 15,000 customers earlier in the day. Many local police departments reported road closures; in Radnor Township a walking trail was closed .

Further complicating the commute Monday is the fact that the Delaware River Bridge was closed abruptly Friday due to a crack in one of the steel components. The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission issued an alert, telling travelers who use all bridges connecting Bucks and Mercer counties to anticipate "heavy traffic volumes" and delays during Monday evening’s peak driving period — 3 to 7 p.m.
