Gas Outage Update: More Than 99 Percent Restored
Those still without service are encouraged to call National Grid to schedule an appointment.

NEWPORT, R.I. -- National Grid reported that over 99 percent of Newport residents affected by the gas outage have had service restored as of Monday evening. Moving forward, the company has pledged to assist the community as small businesses and residents assess the long-term economic impacts.
Anyone still without gas service is encouraged to call the company at 1-800-870-1664 to schedule restoration with a technician. Seasonal residents who are away from Aquidneck Island for the winter can call National Grid as soon as they return for assistance. Once again, residents are urged to not attempt to relight gas service on their own.
