KABUL, Afghanistan — President Joe Biden said another attack on Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport is "highly likely" after the United States killed two "high profile" Islamic State militants Friday.

The attack would likely happen in the next 24-36 hours, Biden said, according to The Washington Post. He also said that the situation in Kabul remains “extremely dangerous.”

Pentagon officials on Saturday also confirmed the U.S. military is pulling equipment from Afghanistan as the number of evacuees leaving the country continues to drop, The Post reported.

Army Maj. Gen. Hank Taylor on Saturday said during a briefing that “there is equipment leaving" on flights. The Pentagon, however, the U.S. is not shutting down operations and will continue to oversee evacuations through Aug. 31.

Several countries including Italy and the United Kingdom have concluded evacuations.
