New Entertainment District to Open Soon in North Austin

Rock Rose, a development in the Domain, will bring local favorites to shopping center.

Popular Austin establishments are moving north, providing Austinites a new place to eat, drink and shop.

Rock Rose Avenue, part of the Domain, will become a 100,000-square-foot entertainment district, reported KVUE. The project is being developed by Endeavor Real Estate Group, which has gathered the best of Austin and brought it north. Seventy-five percent of the new tenants will be businesses that are already owned and operated in Austin.

Some local favorites that will set up at Rock Rose: are East Side King, Salvation Pizza, Sway and Lavaca Street Bar. Rock Rose will also feature a mix of new restaurants and an upscale rooftop dance club called The Rose Room.

Although developers say the project will be completed by September 2016, businesses like West Sixth Street’s Dogwood Bar are opening this winter.

“It’s two blocks of a brand new entertainment district coming to the middle of the Domain,” Chad Womack, a part owner of Dogwood Bar told KVUE. “”I can honestly say it’s the most exciting thing that our group has been a part of since we started.”
