Blacksburg man sentenced nine years for possessing firearm as convicted felon (wfxrtv.com) — A Blacksburg resident has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison after Pulaski police found two firearms and suspected drugs during a 2025 traffic stop. Prosecutors say officers discovered a handgun hidden in his clothing and an assault-style pistol with a suppressor in the vehicle, leading to his conviction for possessing a firearm as a felon.

Pitt coach puts top-25 voters on blast to 'wake their ass up' after huge win over Virginia Tech (nypost.com) — A nail-biting Virginia Tech home game in Blacksburg ended with Pitt edging the Hokies 35–33 after a controversial missed field goal at Lane Stadium. Moments like this are exactly why we need to press pause sometimes. (Nextdoor Shenandoah) - Does anyone know whether the town of Blacksburg has been asked to remove the Flock cameras around town?
Not on Tech campus, but all the other ones around town. Give or take, on deflock.org, it looks like about 25 cameras. (Nextdoor Mountain View)
