Fairfax High School is seeing enhanced police presence after school officials became aware of a social media threat to the school. Fairfax County Public Schools sent out a tweet Thursday advising the community of the threat.
Armed Security Proposed By Fairfax School Board Member
After a gunman killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on Feb. 14, Fairfax County school board members are tackling solutions to bolster safety. One of these proposals is full-time armed security, which board member Elizabeth Schultz of Springfield will introduce Thursday.

Madison Students Participate In Walk Outs To Demand Gun Control
Around 300 Madison High School students walked out of classes Wednesday to demand action on gun control in the wake of the shooting of 17 people in Parkland, Florida on Feb. 14.
DC Speed Cameras Vandalized: Report
Multiple speed cameras have been vandalized in the District, according to a report. At least two cameras were toppled in the 800 block of Eastern Avenue in Northeast, and other cameras were damaged elsewhere in the quadrant.
DC Approves Elon Musk To Start Work On Massive Hyperloop: Report
Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of Tesla and SpaceX, is taking on a massive new project right here in the D.C. area: a "Hyperloop" that would take people from D.C. to New York in about a half hour. The Washington Post reports that D.C. has approved Elon Musk's Boring Company to start work on the project.
