Police: Copper Wire Scheme Tangles Up Warrenton Man
He's charged with embezzling from his employer, say Fairfax City police.

Fairfax City police arrested a Warrenton man Tuesday for allegedly committing embezzlement involving copper wire.
Daniel Archer, 34, of 7179 Auburn Mill Road, was taken into custody and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with felony embezzlement, according to a police report.

At 3:49 p.m. Tuesday, the manager of Jim Corridon Electric Co., 3909 Railroad Ave., told police that Archer had placed fraudulent orders for copper wire.

Archer had indicated that the wire would be used by the company, the manager said. But he was actually taking the wire to a scrap dealer and retaining the proceeds for personal use, according to police.
