Chopper, K9 Track Down Suspect in Assault, Robbery at McDonald's Parking Lot: Police

Police say the man assaulted and robbed a 61-year old man of his iPhone last Wednesday night.

Fairfax County Police tracked down a suspect in an assault and robbery that took place late last Wednesday night in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant on Richmond Highway, they said Monday.

The incident began in the parking lot at 6239 Richmond Highway (see map below) Wednesday at 11:05 p.m.

Police say that a 61-year-old man reported that a man approached him in the McDonald’s parking lot and assaulted him. The suspect took the victim’s i/Phone and fled on foot, according to police.

The police helicopter and a K9 team responded. They located the suspect hiding in a wooded area adjacent to McDonald’s.

Charles Finley, 41, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with grand larceny and malicious wounding. The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
