Customer Holds Up Cabbie at Gunpoint, Steals Cab

Incident took place Friday, police say.

A cab driver was held up at gunpoint Friday, and then had his cab stolen by the robber, according to a report by Fairfax County Police.

The robbery at gunpoint took place Friday in the 6200 block of North Kings Highway in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. Police did not say what time the incident took place.

The cab driver drove the customer to a local shopping center. The customer displayed a handgun to the driver and demanded money. The victim/cab driver managed to exit the cab and fled on foot.

The suspect fled in the cab and took cash. The victim did not require rescue. The suspect was described as black, 20s, and about 5 feet 8 inches tall.
