Delivery Driver Robbed At Gunpoint In Mount Vernon: Police

The suspect took a food order and a delivery driver's personal items, police say.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—Fairfax County Police are seeking a suspect for an armed robbery in Mount Vernon Wednesday night.

Around 10:53 p.m., the suspect approached a pizza delivery driver, who was looking for the address for an order in the 8400 block of Richmond Highway. The man displayed a gun, took the victim's property and food order, and fled. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as black, around 5 foot 6, 35 to 40 years old, 180 to 200 pounds and wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Below are other incidents reported in the Mount Vernon Police District within the last day.

  • Robbery: 3500 block of Robert E Lee Place, 02/06/19 11:00 p.m. A man was sent a message by an acquaintance to meet at the location. When he arrived, he was approached by the acquaintance and an unknown man and woman who pushed him to the ground and assaulted him. After going through the victim’s pockets the three suspects ran off without taking anything. The man was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
  • Burglary: 9700 block of Kingsbridge Drive, 02/06/19, 1:13 p.m. The homeowner arrived home and discovered electronics were taken.
  • Larceny: 3100 block of Lockheed Boulevard, merchandise from business
  • Larceny: 7600 block of Richmond Highway, merchandise from business
