Facebook Sneakers Sale Goes Bad in Hybla Valley: Police

Suspect ran off with shoes without paying for them after meeting seller on Arlington Drive, police say.

A sale of some tennis shoes, arranged on Facebook, went bad when the would-be buyer ran off with the shoes, according to police.

Fairfax County Police say that the sale went bad Monday evening in the 2700 block of Arlington Drive in the Hybla Valley area. Police were called at about 6:01 p.m. about the robbery.

The victim had arranged to sell some sneakers to a subject on Facebook, according to police. When the parties met the would-be buyer, he ran off with the shoes, police said.

The suspect was only described as a Hispanic male, police said. The victim did not need medical attention, according to police.
