Fleeing Bank Fraud Suspect Hits Police Car In Springfield
A woman that tried to cash a fake check drove into a police car to avoid arrest in Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—Police were on scene in Springfield when a suspect tried to commit check fraud, but she manage to slippe through the cracks.
Around around 2:50 p.m. Monday, the woman tried to cash the fraudulent check at Navy Federal Credit Union (6225 Brandon Avenue). The bank tellers refused to cash the check, and the woman left.
A police officer met her outside and tried to prevent her from leaving. The woman got into a gray Ford Mustang and tried to flee, but another police car arrived to block the exit.

The suspect ended up driving into the police car, which struck an officer. She was able to escape and was last seen driving toward Commerce Street.
The officer did not need medical attention. Police continue to investigate. A suspect description has not been provided.
