Mattress Soaked With Vinegar, Wiper Fluid In Bizarre Burglary
A Mount Vernon resident returned home to find an unpleasant scene on his bed.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—A Mount Vernon resident returned home from a trip Tuesday to find more than items taken from his apartment, according to Fairfax County Police.
It appears a burglar entered the apartment in the 5800 block of Woodlawn Gable Drive and soaked his mattress in windshield wiper fluid, olive oil, vinegar and coffee grounds. Aside from that, several undisclosed items are missing.
The resident believes the burglar entered between 3 p.m. on Sept. 8 and 2 p.m. on Sept. 11. Police do not believe there was forced entry.
