Meeting To Address Mount Vernon District Homicide Investigations
Police will discuss four major homicide cases in the Mount Vernon Police District during 2019.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — Fairfax County Police will address investigations into major homicide incidents in the Mount Vernon Police District. A community meeting is planned on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. at Mount Vernon High School, 8515 Old Mount Vernon Road, Alexandria.
Capt. Brian Ruck of the Mount Vernon District Police Station and Mount Vernon Supervisor Dan Storck are hosting the meeting to provide investigation updates and answer resident questions. RSVP for the event here.

- The body found in North Hill Park on May 22, 2019: Two people were charged with murder in the gang-related killing of a juvenile at North Hill Par, according to the last update from Fairfax County Police. Two others were charged with unlawful disposal of a dead body.
- A man killed in a shooting at Meadow Woods Apartments on Oct. 26, 2019: No arrest has been announced in the Oct. 26 killing at Meadow Woods Apartments.
- The body located near a bridge in Mount Vernon on Dec. 18, 2019: A man was charged with murder related to the body left near a bridge in Mount Vernon. A person walking a dog came across the body on Dec. 18.
- The double shooting that killed a 20-year-old on Dec. 30, 2019: The Dec. 30 double shooting killed a 20-year-old and injured his 18-year-old brother. Police made an arrest after tracking the suspect to Maryland.
