Men Arrested After Chaotic Chase In Hybla Valley: Police

Police were called to the scene when the men reportedly pointed a gun at another driver.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA—Two Alexandria men are facing charges after an armed confrontation with a driver led to a police pursuit Saturday in Hybla Valley.

Around 2:41 p.m., Fairfax County Police had responded to Sherwood Hall Lane at Fordson Road for a report of someone pointing a gun at a driver during a traffic pursuit. Officers tried to stop the car, but the driver sped off and started a pursuit.

At one point, the driver and passenger fled on foot. Police were able to catch up and take them into custody.

Timothy Matthews, 24, and Chester Collier, 37, were charged with brandishing a firearm, possession of a firearm by a non-violent convicted felon, possession of a schedule I narcotic and felony speed to elude, among other charges. According to court records, Matthews and Collier will appear in Fairfax County court on Aug. 28.
