New Year's Eve Grocery Store Burglary: Police Make Arrest

Police say suspect took items from local grocery store twice in one day on New Year's Eve.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police announced Wednesday that detectives at the Mount Vernon District Police Station have made an arrest in a local grocery store burglary that took place on New Year's Eve.

Police say they executed a search warrant at a local residence and found evidence from the initial burglary.

Keith Salley, 46, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with burglary, grand larceny, and grand larceny with the intent to sell, police said.

Police say that the burglary occurred at the Central Super Mercado, located at 6222 Richmond Highway (see map below) on Dec. 31, 2015. At about 8:30 p.m., a man forced his way into the store, took merchandise and left, police said. Approximately two hours later, the man re-entered the store and took more merchandise, according to police.
