Pizza Driver Thwarts Armed Robbery In Mount Vernon

A pizza delivery driver managed to avoid being robbed by a young man with a gun in Mount Vernon.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—People can live to tell the tale of being robbed, but can many say they avoided the grime when being threatened with a gun? A pizza delivery driver in Mount Vernon did just that.

Around 11 p.m. on Thursday, the delivery driver was making a delivery when approached by a young man who demanded items. The unknown suspect then threatened the driver with a gun. The driver challenged the gunman, who then fled on a bicycle. Police did not say how the victim stopped the robbery.

The unknown suspect is described as a teenager, about 5 foot 6 and thin.
