Police Car Struck By Stolen Vehicle In Woodlawn Area: Police

Three people fled from the stolen vehicle, but police say the driver was arrested.

WOODLAWN, VA — Fairfax County Police allege the driver of a stolen vehicle hit a police car in the Woodlawn area Tuesday.

The incident happened around 3:21 p.m. in the 7900 block of Central Park Circle when police located a stolen white BMW X3 parked in the neighborhood. As officers pulled in behind the car, the driver put the car in reverse, striking the police car. There were no injuries.

Three men fled, leading to a short foot pursuit. Police arrested the driver, Jonathan Santos Ayala, 19, of Falls Church. Santos Ayala was charged with malicious wounding and receiving stolen goods.

UPDATE: Malicious wounding/accident hit-and-run: 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue, Hybla Valley, 7/5/21, 5:05 a.m. After a dispute, a woman drove into a man and pinned him against a car before driving away. The man was taken to a hospital with injuries that were life-threatening. Tennida Ferguson, 45, of Alexandria, was arrested on July 12 and charged with malicious wounding.

Robbery: 6300 block of South Kings Highway, Groveton, 7/11/21, 11:23 p.m. Two men approached the victim as he exited a store, assaulted him and took property. The victim was treated at a hospital for injuries that were not considered life threatening.

Commercial Robbery: 5834 North Kings Highway, Groveton (7-Eleven), 7/12/21, 1:04 a.m. A man entered the business, implied he had a weapon and took property.

Robbery: 8700 block of Sacramento Drive, Woodlawn, 7/14/2021, 6:13 p.m. A man assaulted an acquaintance on the sidewalk, forcefully removed his property and ran away.
