Police Find Stolen Car After Mount Vernon Crash

No other cars were involved in the crash of the stolen vehicle, Fairfax County Police say.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—A driver was found with a stolen vehicle after a crash Thursday night in Mount Vernon.

Around 8:55 p.m., officers were called to the 4000 block of Ferry Landing Road for a one-vehicle crash. Police found the driver walking near the scene, and he admitted to the crash.

Upon further investigation, officers learned the car was stolen from Prince George's County, Md. The man also had a concealed gun with the serial number removed.

Demetrius Johnson, 20, of Washington, D.C. was arrested and charged with concealed weapon, stolen firearm, hit and run, provide false identification to law enforcement, possession of stolen property, and unauthorized use.

No injuries were reported in the crash.
